Office Hours for Authors
I’m setting aside a few blocks of time each week to offer authors affordable one-on-one time to chat about any aspect of the writing or publishing process that’s holding them up.
LOCATION: Virtual
COST: 1 drop-in session $35; 4-session pack $49
PAYMENT: Visit my SHOP or email me at hello@sararoahen.com
SCHEDULING: Go HERE to book your time
WHO IT’S FOR: Authors looking for support and answers on any aspect of writing, book production, or publishing
WHAT IT’S NOT: Office Hours for Authors is not a time for exploring whether I’d make a good fit as your editor, writing coach, or publishing assistant. I offer free 30-minute consultations for that. Schedule a consultation HERE.
Office Hours for Authors isn’t an editing session. I cannot read portions of your work ahead of our time together. I can, however, review short pieces of writing during the Office Hours for Authors session, such as proposals, web content, and book descriptions.
MY CREDENTIALS: In 2008, I published a memoir with a traditional publishing house, Gumbo Tales: Finding My Place at the New Orleans Table. In 2024, I self-published How to Begin Writing Your Life Stories: Putting Memories on the Page. I’m currently at work on my next self-published book.
In 2024, I became a certified book publishing professional through the Nonfiction Authors Association, and I’m currently enrolled in a yearlong course on book publishing with publishing pro Carla King. I’ve helped many authors to the finish line with their own book projects and coached them on various aspects of the publishing process.
I'm finding our coaching sessions jam-packed with good info and resources, and very therapeutic! I’m so grateful for Sara’s knowledge, connections, and expertise.

The purpose of these weekly drop-in office hours is to provide authors affordable support, encouragement, and instruction on the various aspects of book production and publishing. Possible topics of discussion: the writing process, book proposals, querying agents, building an author website, finding suitable publishers, starting a newsletter, making a marketing plan, the various steps of self-publishing—and whatever else comes up for you as you write your book, prepare it for publication, and begin to engage with your target audience.
Let’s get you to the next phase of your creative process and closer to the finish line!
