Demitasse Press is a custom publishing services company built by two friends, Sara Roahen (editor, coach) and Dorka Hegedus (photographer/designer), who came together over strong coffee, a love of books, and a desire to help authors create the projects of their dreams.
We make professional books written by humans and designed by humans—for humans to read and enjoy. While we use a variety of design, editing, and publishing software with built-in AI tools, we’re in this business because we value writing and ideas generated in the human spirit. We know that, however smart the robots become, they will never manufacture or replicate the joy that arises from engaging in an artistic endeavor of the heart.
We don’t offer one-size-fits-all publication packages. That’s because we customize our services to meet each author’s needs—to what will best and most effectively help them attain their publishing goals. We’re an all-in, hands-on team. We often meet with authors several times before signing a contract and accepting a deposit. We listen to, support, and empower authors throughout the publishing process. And we make ourselves available for questions and follow-up after publication.
At Demitasse Press, we collaborate with authors who share our ambitious, human-centered approach to book creation and publication, and we continue to care about our projects long after we’ve launched books into the post-production, commercial phase. We’re committed to producing books that are not only heartfelt and meaningful but also technically polished and professionally produced.
